Song about Death

Here is a demo to a song I wrote about death-  I began writing a song about the Resurrection of the Dead but then realized that the resurrection is pointless to one who does not understand how horrible death is to humanity.  So this song is about how death is an enemy and a tyrant that must be defeated (1 Cor 15:26).  The Picture is “The first Mourning” by William-Adolphe Bouguereau and depicts Adam and Eve upon finding their murdered son, Abel.

Families torn apart by death
When the doctors say “There’s not much time left”
Til you have to say goodbye the last time

Bereavement comes to pay respects
When the reaper visits to settle our debts
The grave is easily pleased but it’s never satisfied

But is there a cure for this disease
That rapes the life from every living thing?
Everyone you love is returning to the dust
